Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity recently kicked off its 2019 Annual Appeal fundraising campaign. Donations made to the Annual Appeal will help with costs for Habitat’s current home build in Wilkes-Barre that will house a local, low-income family.

WVHFH is a non-profit organization that builds simple, decent homes to sell to families in need. Each family will contribute hundreds of hours of “sweat equity,” working side by side with volunteers to help build and then buy their own home on terms they can afford.

“Our Wells Fargo team was proud to get on their bikes and support Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity,” said Kevin Engelman, Community Bank district manager for Wells Fargo. “Our company is a long-time supporter of Habitat across this region. The work they do provides decent housing to deserving families and gives people a chance to actively participate in the growth of this community.”

“The funds raised from our Bike event allow us to provide housing to families who otherwise would not have the opportunity for homeownership, said Karen Evans Kaufer, executive director of Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity. We are delighted to have Wells Fargo partner with us in our mission to eliminate poverty housing.  Providing this support helps the entire community by improving neighborhoods one house at a time.”
